A second Sphere will be built in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is set to join Las Vegas with its own massive, glowing Sphere, according to Sphere Entertainment Co. and local tourism officials. This new venue aligns with Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, aiming to boost the city's global reputation for culture and innovation.
James L. Dolan, CEO of Sphere Entertainment, revealed that this venue would follow the company’s vision for a global network of Spheres. While no specific location has been announced, it will rival Las Vegas’ 20,000-seat Sphere, known for its cutting-edge LED screens and immersive experiences.
Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism will fund the project, with a franchise fee paid to Sphere Entertainment. The Las Vegas Sphere, which cost $2.3 billion, opened in 2023 with shows by U2, showcasing its incredible technological features.

Paxos launches stablecoin payment platform with Stripe
Paxos, the blockchain firm behind the Pax Dollar stablecoin, is enhancing stablecoin adoption in the payments industry with its new enterprise-grade infrastructure. This platform targets payment service providers (PSPs) and fintech companies looking to integrate stablecoin payments into their systems.
On October 15, Paxos announced that Stripe would be the first PSP to adopt this infrastructure, integrating it into its "Pay with Crypto" product. This allows users to accept stablecoin payments while settling in fiat currencies like the US dollar.
The new platform offers an API that facilitates faster, lower-cost global payments compared to traditional methods. Currently available in the U.S., it requires users to set up a wallet with Paxos and allows merchants to choose between receiving stablecoins or converting them to fiat currency.

Apple announces new iPad mini with A17 Pro chip
Apple has quietly announced a new iPad Mini, its first update since 2021. Priced at $499, the new Mini is available for pre-order now and hits stores next Wednesday. The upgrade focuses on performance, with an A17 Pro chip offering a 30% faster CPU and 25% faster GPU, along with a Neural Engine that’s twice as fast as before.
The new Mini also supports the Apple Pencil Pro and now comes with 128GB of storage, up from 64GB. Design-wise, the only change is in the colors—new muted purple and blue options. Despite these tweaks, the tablet’s form factor remains largely unchanged.
While the iPad Mini has a smaller fan base compared to Apple’s larger tablets, its compact size still appeals to niche users. This update aligns with Apple’s broader push to boost AI performance across its devices.

Instagram introduces customisable Profile Card feature
Instagram is launching a new "profile card" feature, acting like a digital business card for users to share their profiles easily. After testing with select creators, the feature is now available globally. It allows users to share their profile without sending their handle—just share the card.
The profile card has two sides: one shows your bio, profile picture, links, and music, while the other displays a QR code linking to your profile. You can also customize the background to add a personal touch, making it ideal for those looking to market themselves or grow connections.
Instagram believes this feature will help users connect with new friends, collaborators, and brands more easily. It offers a more personalized way to share profiles, building on the simpler QR code option available since 2018.
