Judge Rules in Favor of WP Engine in Legal Battle with Automattic

Automattic has been ordered to stop blocking WP Engine’s access to WordPress.org resources and interfering with its plugins

WP Engine has won a preliminary injunction against Automattic, the parent company of WordPress.com. A California District Court judge has ordered Automattic to stop blocking WP Engine’s access to WordPress.org resources and interfering with its plugins.

This decision follows a lawsuit filed by WP Engine, accusing Automattic and its CEO, Matt Mullenweg, of causing "immediate irreparable harm." The hosting service sought to stop Mullenweg from restricting access to WordPress.org.
