Elon Musk's xAI raises $6 billion in funding
Elon Musk’s xAI, founded last summer, has raised $6 billion to launch its first products, build advanced infrastructure, and accelerate R&D. xAI's chatbot, Grok, available to X Premium subscribers on X, is positioned as an edgier alternative to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
The funding came from Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, and Saudi Arabian Prince Al Waleed bin Talal. Previously, xAI sought to raise up to $1 billion, and recent reports indicated it was aiming for $6 billion, a claim Musk had denied.
Developing AI is costly, with Nvidia's Blackwell B200 AI graphics cards priced at $30,000 to $40,000 each. xAI plans to use 100,000 Nvidia H100 chips for a supercomputer to power an upgraded Grok AI, aiming for a data center launch by fall 2025. The AI race requires substantial investment, with big tech firms heavily funding similar ventures.

TikTok creators don't believe a ban is coming
President Biden's recent bill threatens TikTok's future in the U.S., demanding its China-based parent company to divest. Despite widespread backlash, many influential TikTok creators doubt the ban will materialize.
A survey conducted by Fohr revealed that 62 percent of polled creators with over 10,000 followers don't foresee TikTok's ban by 2025. Conversely, 38 percent believe the ban will occur. Some creators, like one anonymous respondent, refuse to accept the ban as feasible, citing government's bigger priorities.
Although the U.S. government expresses concerns over TikTok's ownership, Fohr's survey indicates minimal impact on creators' work. 83 percent noted unchanged sponsorships, with 60 percent reporting steady viewership and engagement, and 10 percent even experiencing increased engagement.

Invest before this company becomes a household name
What if you had the opportunity to invest in the biggest electronics products before they launched into big box retail, would you?
Ring changed doorbells and Nest changed thermostats. Early investors in these companies earned massive returns, but the opportunity to invest was limited to a select, wealthy few. Not anymore. RYSE has just launched in 100+ Best Buy stores, and you're in luck — you can still invest at only $1.50/share before their name becomes known nationwide.
They have patented the only mass market shade automation device, and their exclusive deal with Best Buy resembles that which led Ring and Nest to their billion-dollar buyouts.

iOS 18 may bring AI-generated emojis
iOS 18 may bring more fun to the iPhone experience with AI-generated emojis, reports Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Apple is developing software to create custom emojis based on user texts, adding to the already extensive emoji library. This feature promises amusing and unique creations, sure to delight users.
Apple is also planning more customization options for apps and the home screen. Users might soon change app icon colors and arrange them freely, moving away from the rigid grid layout. This would be a significant shift for Apple, offering users more creative control over their home screens.
Amidst the buzz about Apple's AI plans, Gurman suggests practical updates over flashy ones at the upcoming WWDC on June 10. Expect enhancements like AI-boosted Safari searches, Siri, photo retouching, voice memo transcriptions, and smart recaps for notifications and web pages.
