X is rolling out its controversial blocking feature
X, previously known as Twitter, is changing its blocking feature, allowing blocked users to view posts made by the accounts that blocked them. The update means that if your posts are public, blocked users can see them, though they still cannot engage by liking or replying.
This shift aims to increase transparency, as X noted that blocking was sometimes misused to hide harmful information. Elon Musk argued that restricting visibility of public posts made little sense and suggested that the blocking feature should act more like a mute function.
However, the response has been largely negative, with many concerned that the change could aid stalkers and undermine user safety. While blocked users can now view and search for posts, they still cannot engage or follow the accounts that blocked them.

Meta extends Llama support to U.S. government
Meta is now making its Llama AI models available to U.S. government agencies and contractors, including major partners like AWS, Oracle, Microsoft, and defense firms such as Lockheed Martin. This move, announced in an update, aims to enhance national security capabilities using AI.
For instance, Oracle uses Llama to streamline aircraft maintenance, enabling faster diagnoses and repairs. AWS and Microsoft host Llama on secure cloud platforms, supporting government operations involving sensitive data. Meta has also opened Llama access to allied nations, including the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Nick Clegg, Meta’s President of Global Affairs, notes that these partnerships aim to strengthen democratic nations’ AI capabilities. Meta, he states, is committed to supporting American and allied interests in the global AI landscape.

Prime Video launches AI-generated recaps for TV shows
Ever paused a series mid-season, then struggled to pick up where you left off? Amazon’s new AI-powered X-Ray Recaps for Prime Video may be the perfect solution. This tool creates personalized recaps using generative AI, delivering quick summaries that catch you up on key story points right to the exact moment you paused.
X-Ray Recaps provides “brief, easy-to-digest summaries” of entire seasons, single episodes, or specific scenes. Powered by Amazon Bedrock, it focuses on essential cliffhangers, character moments, and plot points without revealing spoilers. The aim? Helping you reconnect instantly with your favorite shows.
Launching first on Fire TV in beta, X-Ray Recaps currently supports Amazon MGM Studios content like The Boys and The Wheel of Time, with expansion planned for more devices and titles by year’s end.
