Apple Users Will Soon Be Able to Upgrade to ChatGPT Plus via the Settings App

Apple’s second iOS 18.2 developer beta brings a cool new feature: users can now upgrade to ChatGPT Plus directly from the Settings menu. This new integration, first reported by 9to5Mac, makes it easier than ever to access OpenAI’s premium version of ChatGPT.

For $19.99 per month, ChatGPT Plus unlocks extra features, including more messages with the powerful GPT-4 model. If you’re someone who regularly uses ChatGPT on your iPhone and often runs into the daily free usage limits of its advanced features, the upgrade could be well worth it. You’ll also be able to track your usage in Settings, so you can easily see when you’re getting close to hitting that cap.

In addition to the ChatGPT integration, Apple is reportedly in talks with Google about incorporating its Gemini AI into iOS as well. If that partnership moves forward, we could see a similar upgrade option for Gemini Advanced, which would likely also be available through the Settings menu.

iOS 18.2 is packed with other exciting AI features too, such as Visual Intelligence and Genmoji, which will bring new ways for users to interact with their devices. The update is expected to roll out during the week of December 2nd, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, so there’s plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
