Apple Lets App Developers Nominate Their Apps for App Store Featuring

Apple introduces a new process for developers to nominate their apps for featured positions on the App Store, boosting discoverability and marketing opportunities.

Apple has launched a new feature for app developers, allowing them to nominate their apps for promotion on the App Store. This "Featuring Nominations" process, introduced in App Store Connect, provides developers with the opportunity to submit their apps for inclusion in prominent spots across the App Store, such as editorial stories, collections, and feature placements.

Previously, developers had no formal way to request being featured, but now they can actively submit their apps for consideration, which could help increase visibility and drive more downloads.

The new nomination system lets developers submit updates related to new content, app enhancements, or new launches, making it easier for them to market their latest app versions.

To use the feature, developers can access a nominations dashboard within App Store Connect, where they can enter nominations individually or in bulk for larger publishers. Each nomination requires a brief description, a name that explains the app’s update or feature, and an optional section to provide additional helpful details, such as the developer’s story or new accessibility improvements.
